Terms of use
Effective September 10, 2026
These terms govern use of the public website, FAQ assistant, protected workspace, and document-signing pages operated by Terry Kwan & Andy Lee CPA Professional Corporation.
1. Acceptance
By using the service, you agree to these terms and our Privacy, Cookies & Storage Notice. If you use the service for an organization, you confirm that you are authorized to act for it. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
2. General information only
Public website and FAQ-assistant content is general information, not accounting, tax, legal, investment, or other professional advice. Information may not reflect your facts or the latest law. Obtain advice from a qualified professional before acting.
3. No professional relationship through the website
Visiting the website, sending a public question, or booking a consultation does not by itself create an accountant-client relationship. A professional relationship begins only when the firm accepts an engagement under agreed terms.
4. Acceptable use
You must use the service lawfully and must not attempt unauthorized access, probe security, interfere with operation, introduce malicious code, impersonate another person, upload material you lack authority to provide, or use automated means that place an unreasonable load on the service.
5. Accounts and secure access
You are responsible for protecting your credentials and for activity under your account. Notify the firm promptly if you suspect unauthorized access. Access may be suspended to protect clients, records, or the service.
6. Documents and electronic signatures
You must review every page before signing and must be authorized to sign. A submitted electronic signature, typed name, timestamp, and related audit information may be treated as evidence of your intent to sign. Contact the firm before signing if a document is incomplete or incorrect.
7. AI-assisted features
The FAQ assistant and internal extraction tools may generate inaccurate or incomplete material. Public responses are informational only. Internal accounting drafts require human review and do not replace source documents or professional judgment. Do not submit sensitive records through the public assistant.
8. Your content
You retain rights in information and documents you lawfully provide. You grant the firm and its service providers permission to host, process, reproduce, and transmit that content only as reasonably required to provide, secure, and administer the service and the applicable engagement.
9. Intellectual property
The website, branding, text, design, and software are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. Except as permitted by law, you may not copy, republish, sell, reverse engineer, or create derivative works from the service without written permission.
10. Third-party services and links
The service may link to or rely on third-party services. Their own terms and privacy practices apply. The firm is not responsible for third-party content or services outside its reasonable control.
11. Availability and changes
We may maintain, modify, suspend, or discontinue features. We do not promise uninterrupted or error-free availability, but this does not limit obligations that cannot lawfully be excluded.
12. Disclaimer and limitation
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the public website and FAQ assistant are provided on an “as available” basis without warranties beyond those that cannot lawfully be excluded. The firm is not liable for loss caused by reliance on public informational content, unauthorized use, third-party services, or events beyond its reasonable control. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded or alters obligations under an accepted professional engagement.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable there, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Courts located in Ontario have jurisdiction, subject to any mandatory rights or agreed engagement terms.
14. Changes and contact
We may update these terms by posting a revised version and effective date. Questions may be sent to terrykwan@ciica.com or andyleeca@rogers.com.
